Passing Of Blacktown Mayor A "terrible Loss"

Blue Mountains City Council has extended its condolences following the sudden death of Blacktown Mayor, Cr Tony Bleasdale OAM.

Blue Mountains Mayor, Cr Mark Greenhill OAM, said: "Tony was a great community leader and wonderful human being. We mourn his passing.

"I have known Tony for a very long time, as he and I were both elected as Labor Councillors in the 1990s.

"I know his family and loved ones would be hurting deeply, and our thoughts are with them at this terrible time.

"Blue Mountains City Council and Blacktown City Council have a longstanding affiliation which often centred on quality of life, the impacts of Western Sydney Airport and social justice.

"Tony - and his advocacy - will be missed. This is a terrible loss."
