Pavilion Kiama Lights Up For Biggest Ever Wedding

Kiama Council

The Pavilion Kiama

The Pavilion broke new ground last weekend when the popular Kiama venue hosted a wedding for 230 people.

It was the largest wedding in the 17-year history of the Council-run venue adjacent to Kiama Showground with stunning views of the coastline.

The Pavilion coordinator Jackie Hall said the wedding went off without a hitch thanks to the dedicated team of staff members who worked hard in the lead-up to the event and on the big day itself.

"Amelia and Jordan spent three years planning for family and friends to celebrate this special day with them at The Pavilion," she said.

"From their first site inspection, our location, ocean views and our staff's flexibility and personal attention to detail captured their hearts.

"We were honoured to host their wedding and we're extremely happy that it was a sensational night for all in attendance.

"The feedback from the bride and groom was that it 'was an absolute dream. Your team went above and beyond anything we imagined, everything felt so effortless, we truly could not have asked for a better night'."

It is a busy period for The Pavilion, which will host the NSW Government's Community Cabinet on 19 May, including a forum for members of the public to quiz Premier Chris Minns and his ministers.

The Sing It Out Loud two-day event was held earlier this week as well as an author talk by New York Times bestselling novelist Natasha Lester for the Friends of Kiama Library.

Other events on the horizon are the Glenn Haworth Business Workshop next Tuesday (12 May), Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong Bangawarra Day on 13 May, Kiama Baptist Church's SEEN Conference on 16 May, Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District's Nursing & Midwifery Conference on 23 May and a Destination Sydney Surrounds South Visitor Symposium on 27 May.

Cedars Kiama will partner with Fresh Hopes Communities to host a Biggest Morning Tea on 21 May at The Pavilion with around 200 people expected to be in attendance.

And for anyone thinking of choosing The Pavilion or the many other options in the LGA for their wedding venue, the always popular Kiama I Do Wedding Expo will take place at the venue on Saturday, 4 July from 10am-2pm.
