The therapy dog team at Carinity Education Rockhampton has doubled in number, but not doubled in size!
Joining the school's existing therapy dog, Maverick, is a new doggy recruit, a mini-Dachshund named Miss Pickle.

School Principal, Lyn Harland, said Miss Pickle is a "tiny dog with a huge heart" which started her journey to become a therapy dog last year.
"Her presence is a delightful reminder of resilience, patience, and hope. As she learns and grows, she embodies the spirit of perseverance and unconditional love that we cherish in our school community," Lyn said.
Lyn said the therapy dogs "bring a sense of warmth and connection" to the school community and "remind us of the importance of compassion and companionship".
Miss Pickle will follow in the paw-steps of Maverick, a specially-trained Tamaruke dog which has been part of the Carinity Education Rockhampton community since 2021.

"Maverick has been a source of comfort and calm, supporting students and staff alike in managing stress and fostering emotional well-being," Lyn said.
Another therapy dog, Tarmac, provides support and comfort to students at Carinity Education Southside in Brisbane.
Maverick also bring joy to residents at the Carinity Shalom seniors' community in Rockhampton, one of many therapy dogs which visit Carinity aged care homes.
