Pedestrian hit by a car in Ballarat

Ballarat Highway Patrol officers are investigating after a pedestrian was hit by a car in Ballarat this morning, Victoria Police say.

Police have been told a man was crossing Sturt Street when he was struck by a white Peugeot wagon travelling west just before midday.

A 78-year-old Ararat man has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Peugeot, a 35-year-old woman is currently assisting police with their enquiries.
