Pedestrian hit by car in Frankston

Police are appealing for public assistance after a pedestrian was stuck by a car in Frankston last night.

Emergency services were called to Frankston-Cranbourne Road near Beach Street about 6.45pm.

It's understood a pedestrian was crossing Frankston-Cranbourne Road when they were struck by a white utility was travelling westbound.

A man, yet to be formally identified, was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene to assist.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation is ongoing.
