Police are currently on scene at a fatal collision that has claimed the life of a pedestrian in Dandenong South this morning, Victoria Police say.
It is believed the pedestrian was struck by a car travelling west on Dandenong Bypass, near Hammond Road about 5.30am.
The pedestrian, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.
The Dandenong Bypass is currently closed between Hammond Road and Frankston-Dandenong Road.
Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the pedestrian on the freeway prior to the crash, or anyone who may have dash cam footage.
