Pedestrian seriously injured after collision at Miranda

A pedestrian has been seriously injured after a collision in the Sutherland area yesterday.

Just after 9.30pm last night (Thursday 06 January 2022), emergency services were called to the Kingsway near the intersection of University Road, Miranda, following reports a pedestrian riding an e-scooter had been struck by a vehicle.

Officers attached to Sutherland Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The pedestrian­– a 48-year-old man– was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics on scene before being taken to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the Toyota Carolla – a 67- year-old man – was uninjured and taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory testing.

Inquiries into the cause of the collision are continuing.
