- Qantas' inaugural flight between Perth and Busselton launches today
- Expected to deliver over 15,000 additional seats to the South West annually
- Supported by the Cook Government, through Tourism WA
A new direct service has launched between Perth and Busselton, making it easier than ever to explore Western Australia's iconic South West.
Qantas' new flight is expected to bring more than 15,000 extra inbound seats to the region each year, creating a significant boost for local tourism operators and businesses.
Operating three times a week, the service is timed to connect seamlessly with flights arriving in Perth from Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney, making the service an ideal gateway for interstate and international travellers exploring Australia.
Renowned for its picturesque coastline, world-class wineries and gourmet experiences, the Margaret River region continues to be one of WA's most popular visitor destinations. In 2024, Australia's South West welcomed 3.4 million overnight visitors, with Busselton, Augusta-Margaret River and Bunbury among the top destinations.
The new Qantas service is supported by the Cook Government through the $75 million Aviation Recovery Fund, designed to stimulate air travel and grow regional tourism across the State, with Tourism WA partnering with the airline on interstate cooperative marketing activity to promote the new service and drive bookings.
This new route forms part of the Cook Government's economic diversification strategy, driving higher out-of-state visitation to our regions.
The launch of this new route comes ahead of the return of the highly anticipated 2025 Pair'd Margaret River Region event.
Returning for its second year from 20-23 November 2025, Pair'd is a four-day celebration of wine, food and music, with exclusive experiences hosted at some of the region's most iconic wineries and venues.
