Perth out of control gathering

On Sunday 28 February 2021, a ticketed event was held at a nightclub located on Murray Street in Perth.

The event was sold out with a crowd of around 700 people and with more outside seeking entry.

The event closed at 2am (Monday 1 March) and a large number of people from the event gathered at the front of the venue and in a laneway at the side of the nightclub.

A fight broke between 4 to 5 males and officers moved forward to break up the fight. As arrests were being made, other people who were nearby surrounded the officers and an Out Of Control Gathering was declared.

Fights broke out between other groups and further police resources attended.

During the incident, glass and plastic bottles thrown at police officers. One officer was hit in the face by a plastic bottle and two other officers were assaulted. The officers received minor injuries.

Six people (aged between 18 and 25) were arrested and police inquiries are continuing.
