Perth Virtual Jobs Fair connects job seekers with employers

A virtual jobs fair to be held today will showcase employment opportunities around Perth and regional areas of Western Australia.

The Perth Virtual Jobs Fair, funded by the Australian Government, will bring together job seekers and local businesses promoting hundreds of job opportunities available in Perth and regional Western Australia locations.

Minister for Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business, Senator the Hon Michaelia Cash, said as COVID restrictions lift, more local businesses will look to hire staff.

"We are rolling out a series of jobs fairs around Australia to keep people connected to job opportunities in their local area," Minister Cash said.

"The Perth Virtual Job Fair offers people the chance to directly message with employers and employment service providers online.

"The Australian Government has held Jobs Fairs around Australia and more than 28,600 people have attended these fantastic events over the past two years.

"Our Government is committed to getting Australians back into jobs and I am determined to see job seekers get the help they need to gain sustainable employment."

Senator for Western Australia, Matt O'Sullivan, said this was a fantastic opportunity for West Australians.

"This jobs fair is a must for anyone who wants to connect with businesses currently recruiting and get advice on what they need to become job-ready," Senator O'Sullivan said.

"Participating in this event will be the critical first step for many of these jobseekers in gaining employment or finding the right training to prepare for their career of choice.
