Phillip Island Block Gets Planning Permit Approval from Council

Bass Coast Shire Council has approved the planning permit submitted by the producers of the reality TV renovation show The Block.

The Channel Nine show is planning to film the 20th anniversary series at a property purchased at Cowes on Phillip Island, 90 minutes south-east of Melbourne.

"We are looking forward to hosting The Block and showcasing the desirability of Bass Coast to live in, holiday and do business,'' said Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor Cr Clare Le Serve.

"From the world-famous Penguin Parade, beautiful beaches and amazing hospitality, this is fantastic news and we're proud to have been chosen by the producers.

"It's also great news for local businesses providing materials, local workers looking for work and food and accommodation providers who will look after the large production crew that work on the show for many months.''
