Pitching workshop for Northern Rivers social enterprises coming to Byron Bay

Pitch workshop for social enterprises

In partnership with The Funding Network and Sydney School of Entrepreneurship (SSE), the Southern Cross Enterprise Lab is proud to be co-hosting an exclusive Pitch Workshop targeted at not-for-profits and social enterprises in Byron Bay on April 9, 2019.

The exclusive workshop, delivered by The Funding Network's Head Pitch Coach, Rob Irving, will focus on how organisations can develop a clear understanding of their story; create detailed audience analysis and targeted responses; and design a narrative map to sharpen their pitch.

The Funding Network has been building the capabilities of non-profits since 2013, delivering successful pitch coaching workshops to over 620 leaders and 73 live crowdfunding events facilitating over $10million, to help effect change across a broad range of industries.

"We are very excited to partner with SSE and the Southern Cross Enterprise Lab to bring our pitch coaching workshop to social entrepreneurs in Byron Bay," said Julie McDonald, CEO of The Funding Network.

"These interactive workshops are designed to empower and upskill charity leaders in the art and science of powerful storytelling; helping them to clearly articulate their story and unique value proposition – ultimately to ensure their success in the sector."

The workshop will provide an engaging platform for organisations to hone their pitching skills, allowing them to build their capacity and give them a greater opportunity to connect to local funders.

Also partnering in this initiative is the Sydney School of Entrepreneurship. SSE is an unprecedented collaboration between 11 NSW universities and TAFE NSW, driving the next generation of Australian entrepreneurship.

"We've co-created a workshop that creates real value for regional enterprises, bringing together the talent of The Funding Network and the Southern Cross University Enterprise Lab," said Jonathan Jones, Education and Training Director at SSE.

"We are always on the lookout for emerging entrepreneurs through our collaboration with Southern Cross University, so it's great to be on the ground again in Byron Bay."

Southern Cross University is proud to support this initiative and looks forward to seeing the region's socially conscious entrepreneurs flourish.

"We are proud to continue our ongoing work in supporting the development of entrepreneurial mindsets across our communities. We've been steadily working to create space at our University and in the Northern Rivers for startups to grow and scale, and this workshop is the next step in supporting the not-for-profit and social enterprise sector," said Mr Ben Roche, Southern Cross University Vice President (Engagement).

"Not-for-profits and social enterprises have the unique ability to make positive changes in our communities and the world, and by delivering this workshop in partnership with The Funding Network and SSE, we feel encouraged that the next wave of game-changers could be from the Northern Rivers region."
