Whether you fancy a vintage piano, construction material, men's workwear or office furniture, an eclectic collection of quality goods will be up for grabs at the upcoming Surplus Council Items Auction.
With bids starting at just one dollar, council's Group Executive for Built Infrastructure Tom Jamieson said there were more than 150 great bargains sourced from across the region.
"Council staff have been hard at work assessing which items we no longer need due to technical advancements and we have compiled a range of goods for auction," Mr Jamieson said.
"Included in the auction are construction items like civil drainage products, ARMCO guardrail, traffic control signage and even traffic signals and concrete traffic islands.
"You will also find piles of hardwood timbers, assorted clay pavers, besser bricks, farmer's fencing and mending wire and a huge cache of nuts and bolts.
"Other items include 'total station' surveying equipment which was state-of-the-art when purchased and has been kept in immaculate condition throughout its use by council.
"Council now uses upgraded surveying equipment, making this older gear outdated for today's hi-tech requirements.
"There are also lockers, work benches and steel boxes which are practical for use at home."
The auction will be held Sunday, June 23 at council's Nambour Depot (Cnr National Park Road and Nambour Connection Road).
Registration opens at 7am, with bidding from 8am until approximately 2pm.
Prospective buyers are invited to attend a public viewing and pre-registration on Saturday, June 22 from 10am to 2pm at the Nambour Depot, where a detailed catalogue will be available.
Attendees must wear enclosed shoes for entry on both days. Parking available on-site and at the Nambour Showgrounds. Coffee and food vendors as well as public toilets will be on-site.
