Planned Water Interruptions - West Ballina

Ballina Shire Council is investigating potential water loss in the supply network in West Ballina.

As a part of this work our crews will be performing a step test over three nights. This involves shutting down the water supply network by isolating water valves, monitoring the reduction of flow into the area, and comparing this with expected flow rates.

This testing will be carried out between 12am and 3am on Tuesday 31 August, Wednesday 1 September and Thursday 2 September. During this time affected properties in West Ballina will experience water outages of up to one hour as testing progresses across the area.

This testing will be completed at night to reduce the impact on households and businesses and there will not be any noise impact from this work.

This investigation is part of Council's Water Loss Management Program. Managing water loss is important to reduce unnecessary losses between the water network and the point of delivery to the customer. This program is an important measure to save water, chemicals and energy.

Council apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents and businesses for their patience while these essential works are completed.

For any queries in relation to these works, please call Council's Water and Wastewater team on 1300 864 444..
