The countdown is on for the community to have their say on their favourite places and spaces, with 1,500 people having already completed the Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP) surveys.
Surveys close at the end of the month and ask what people want from the buildings, parks, pools, sportsgrounds and playgrounds in their neighbourhoods.
Mayor Patricia White said the high take-up was fantastic and showed how passionate residents and visitors are about the Shoalhaven's community facilities and open spaces.
"The community's feedback will help guide short, medium and long-term planning and investment in our places and spaces," Cr White said.
"With only three weeks left to have your say, don't miss your opportunity to tell us about the places you love," she said.
"The more people who complete the survey, the more data we have to inform our 30-year vision and ensure investment and planning is focused at the right places."
A series of targeted workshops, focus groups and face-to-face engagement activities are happening throughout June to ensure Council hears from a wide cross-section of the community.
So far, the community has told Council that natural areas and beaches, high-quality playgrounds, parks and youth facilities, and connected walking and cycling paths are the most valued long-term investments for future generations.
Workshop participants have underscored the importance of having spaces and places to meet, gather, experience art and culture, connect with community, and engage in sport and physical activity for community health and wellbeing.
The Community Infrastructure Strategic Plan (CISP) is one of Council's biggest strategies with feedback helping to create a blueprint for the future.
The community can have their say via an online survey until Monday 30 June.
The CISP was last reviewed in 2017 and once complete, the new document will be reviewed every five years.
