Plumpton intercept leads to cash and drug seizure

Melton police located a large amount of cash and drugs during a routine intercept in Plumpton last night.

Officers intercepted a Volkswagen on City Vista Court about 7.35pm.

A search of the vehicle located almost $25,000 in cash and a large amount of what is believed to be cocaine and cannabis.

Three male occupants were arrested and taken into custody.

Detectives from Brimbank Embona Taskforce and Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit subsequently executed search warrants at addresses in Taylors Hill and Hillside overnight.

Officers seized an amount of cocaine and cannabis and also located an imitation firearm.

A 21-year-old Burnside man has been charged with two counts of traffick drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence and deal proceeds of crime.

The Burnside man was bailed to appear before Sunshine Magistrates' Court on 4 February.

A 22-year-old Taylors Hill man was charged with two counts of traffick drug of dependence, possess drug of dependence and deal proceeds of crime.

He will be presented to the Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.

A 21-year-old Niddrie man is expected to be charged on summons with drug and firearm-related offences.
