Police appeal after animal cruelty act at Murrumburrah

Police are appealing for information following an act of animal cruelty in the state's south west slopes.

Earlier this month (Friday 1 November), a council employee attended a park on Albury Street, Murrumburrah for routine maintenance.

The employee noticed fur laying on the ground near an amenities block. A short distance away, the employee found several body parts believed to be that of a possum, with a number of stab wounds around the head.

The matter was reported to police last week and officers attached to The Hume Police District commenced an investigation.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who may have information that could assist the investigation to contact Young police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
