Police appeal after pedestrian struck by truck in South Melbourne

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries following a collision in South Melbourne this morning.

Investigators have been told a 49-year-old Melbourne man was crossing at the intersection of Queens Road and Lakeside Drive about 10.40am.

As he was crossing he was struck by a southbound truck.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old Roxburgh Park man, was arrested at the scene and has been assisting police with their enquires.
