Police appeal after suspicious fire at Camden

Police are appealing for public assistance following a suspicious fire that destroyed a number of cars in Sydney's south west last month.

About 3.45am on Saturday 22 August 2020, emergency services were called to a wrecking yard at Camden Valley Way, Smeaton Grange, after reports several vehicles were on fire.

Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the blaze.

As inquiries continue, police have identified two separate incidents, on Wednesday 13 May 2020 another fire was reported to police and on Friday 7 August 2020, there was a break and enter at the premises. Police believe the incidents may be related.

Detectives have released vision and would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a large build and has tattoos on lower left leg. At the time, was wearing a baseball cap, dark short and carrying a backpack.

The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of a medium build. At the time, was wearing dark pants and hoodie.
