Police appeal after suspicious house fire at Albury

An investigation is underway following a suspicious house fire in the state's south overnight.

About 6.30pm (Wednesday 12 August 2020), emergency services were called to a home on Kiama Street, in the Albury suburb of Springdale Heights, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW attended and extinguished the blaze, which destroyed the home.

No one was home at the time and no injuries have been reported.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Initial inquires suggest the fire may have been deliberately lit.
