Police appeal for information after home invasion - St Clair

Police have released CCTV vision and are appealing for information after a man was left critically injured following a home invasion in Sydney's west late last year.

About 4.30pm on Tuesday 24 December 2019, emergency services were called to a home on Cassia Place, St Clair, after reports a man had been found injured inside.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command attended and found a 49-year-old man with serious facial injuries.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition and placed in an induced coma.

Inquiries suggest that the man was injured after someone forced entry into the home about 11pm on Monday 23 December 2019 and assaulted him before stealing a number of items and fleeing.

While the man remains in hospital receiving treatment, officers from Nepean Police Area Command have established Strike Force Stuart to investigate the incident.

As inquiries continue, investigators have now released CCTV vision of a vehicle, which was seen in the vicinity of Cassia Place, around the time of the incident.

The vehicle is described as a silver Mazda sedan.

Anyone who has any information about the vehicle, it's occupants or the home invasion is urged to come forward.

Investigations under Strike Force Stuart continue.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Nepean detectives on 9677 7547 or Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence.
