Investigators from Wyndham North Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses following a fatal collision in Point Cook last night.
It is believed a man travelling with a three-year-old child had stopped in the emergency lane of the Princes Freeway, near Princes Highway, and appears to have been crossing the freeway when he was struck by a white Toyota Hilux ute just after 4.30pm.

The child was uninjured during the incident.
Investigators wish to speak with the driver of a black Mercedes who it is understood was also stopped in the emergency lane near the victim’s car, however left prior to police attendance.

The exact cause of the collision is yet to be determined at this stage.
