Police appeal for witnesses following Bendigo nightclub assault

Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses following an assault outside a local nightclub overnight, Victoria Police say.

The incident happened outside of licensed premises on Pall Mall when two men were ejected for bad behaviour just after 1am.

As the two men left the nightclub they grabbed hold of some metal bollards, used for crowd queue control, and began to assault two crowd controllers.

The men also assaulted a patron, a 19-year-old Bendigo man, who left the club at the same time.

The 19-year-old was struck to the face, causing him to fall to the ground and striking his head on the roadway.

The unconscious victim was conveyed to hospital with a serious head injury.

Investigators are looking for two men who they believe may have been part of a larger group who had been in the club prior to the incident.

Police are urging anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
