Police Appeal To Locate Man Missing From Hornsby 16 August

Police are appealing for assistance to locate a man missing from Sydney's north west.

Matthew Altavilla, aged 32, was last seen at a hospital on Palmerston Road, Hornsby about 10:20am on Tuesday 12 August 2025.

When he could not be contacted or located, officers attached to Ku-Ring Gai Police Area Command were contacted and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Inquiries revealed Matthew may have been in Rhodes at 2:30pm on Wednesday 13 August 2025.

Police hold concerns for his welfare.

Matthew is described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 180cm tall, medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black Nike hooded jumper and black pants.

Matthew is known to frequent the Hornsby, Ryde and Central Coast areas.
