Police appeal to locate teen missing from Abbotsford

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage boy missing from Sydney's Inner West.

Jake Thompson, aged 17, was last seen leaving a home on Walton Crescent, Abbotsford about 2.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 7 March 2023.

When he failed to return home, officers attached to Burwood Police Area Commend were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Family and police hold concerns for Jake's welfare, as he lives with autism and is unfamiliar with the Sydney area having only recently moved here.

Jake is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, of slim build and with short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a white long sleeve t-shirt, denim shorts, black thongs and carrying a black over the shoulder bag.

Jake is believed to be using the public transport network and police have received information he got off a bus at Lane Cove about 4.45pm and is believed to have boarded another bus at Epping about 6.30pm.
