Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating a fatal collision in Moutajup yesterday.
It is believed a vehicle and a motorcycle collided at the intersection of Mill and Taylors roads about 4.30pm.
The rider of the motorcycle, a 53-year-old man from Coleraine, died at the scene.
The passenger from the motorcycle, who is yet to be formally identified, was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old Lake Mundi man, was not physically injured and stopped at the scene.
He was interviewed by detectives and released pending further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision, which remains ongoing.
