Police are responding to fatal crash, Bauple 24 February

A man in his 70s has died following a traffic crash at Bauple last night (February 23).

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 8.40pm on the Bruce Highway a traffic crash has occurred between a vehicle and a truck, which were travelling in opposite directions.

The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.

The driver of the truck, a 28-year-old Ipswich man, was not physically injured.

The Bruce Highway was closed in both directions at Bauple for several hours overnight, and re-opened at approximately 3am today (February 24).

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
