Police are responding to fatal crash, Bauple

A man has died following a two vehicle traffic crash in Bauple overnight.

At approximately 1.00am, a two vehicle crash occurred on the Bruce Highway between a vehicle and truck, causing the truck to catch fire.

The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

The truck driver, a 48-year-old Carina Heights man, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Hervey Bay Hospital.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision to come forward.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

Motorists are advised that traffic diversions remain in place on the Bruce Highway this morning. Seek alternate route or expect delays.
