A cyclist has passed away following an traffic crash on Christmas Day in Cairns.
Around 4.50pm, a car and an electric bicycle collided on Purbeck Place at Edge Hill.
The cyclist was transported to Cairns Hospital with critical injuries.
The driver was not physically injured in the collision.
A 54-year-old man from Aeroglen has since passed away as a result of the injuries he sustained during the collision.
Forensic Crash Unit investigators are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or was in the vicinity of Purbeck Place between 4.45pm and 5pm on December 25 and has dashcam to contact police.
