Police are responding to fatal crash, Fraser Coast

A 52-year-old Maryborough man has died following a collision at Booral this afternoon.

Around 3.30pm, a truck was travelling along Booral Road when it collided with a Mazda 3 travelling in the opposite direction in heavy rain.

The two vehicles came to rest in a culvert off the side of the road.

The 52-year-old was the sole occupant of the Mazda 3 and died on scene.

The driver of the truck, a 54-year-old Hervey Bay man, was not physically injured.

Crash investigators are appealing for any witnesses, particularly those with dashcam footage in the vicinity of Booral and Woods roads at the time, to come forward.
