Police are responding to fatal crash, Gregory River

A boy has died following a two vehicle crash at Gregory River.

Initial investigations suggest around 6.40pm a Nissan Patrol was travelling north along the Bruce Highway when it has been collided with a Toyota RAV4 travelling south.

A boy travelling in the Toyota died at the scene.

A 12-year-old boy who also travelling in the Toyota, was airlifted to the Mackay Base Hospital with serious injuries. The female driver was transported to the Proserpine Hospital.

The driver of the Nissan Patrol, a 45-year-old man, was transported to the Proserpine Hospital. He was the only occupant of the Nissan.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations into the circumstances of the crash are continuing.
