Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal crash which occurred in Arcadia this morning.
Emergency services were called to Shepparton-Euroa Road, south of Union Road, about 1.50am after a damaged vehicle was located on the road.
Sadly, the passenger, a 19-year-old Shepparton woman, died at the scene.
A 25-year-old Shepparton man was located at the scene and was taken to hospital under police guard with non-life-threatening injuries.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be determined.
