Police are responding to fatal crash in Bendigo

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating following a fatal crash in Bendigo this morning.

Police were called to McCrae Street after reports a car had crashed into a pole about 3.15am.

An 18-year-old Bendigo West teen was taken to hospital with suspected life-threatening injuries.

Sadly, a 16-year-old Goornong boy died at the scene.

An 18-year-old teenager from Strathfieldsaye was also taken to a local hospital with injuries, which are believed to be non-life threatening.

The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are still being established.
