Police Are Responding To Fatal Crash - Oxley Highway

A teenage boy has died following a crash in the State's west this morning.

Emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway, Carroll, about 55km east of Gunnedah, at about 2.30am today (Thursday 3 September 2026) following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Oxley Police District attended and found a sedan had left the road.

The driver – a boy believed to be aged in his teenage years – died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the cause of the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
