Detectives from the Major Crash Unit are continuing to investigate a fatal crash in Palmerston yesterday afternoon.
Around 5pm, police received reports of a two vehicle collision on Kirkland Road, Durack.
Emergency services attended the scene and a 36-year-old male passenger of a vehicle carrying 3 people was declared deceased. The remaining two male occupants, aged 80 and 35, were conveyed to hospital in stable conditions.
The driver of the second vehicle allegedly fled the scene immediately following the crash.
Police are still currently searching for the driver, who has been described as a dark skinned male of African appearance, wearing a purple shirt, light shorts and a dark coloured cast on his left arm.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police immediately.
Both lanes of Kirkland Road were closed between Elrundie Avenue and Wishart Road. The road has since reopened.
Investigations into the cause of the crash remain ongoing.
Detective Sergeant Richard Musgrave said "Sadly our members have now been on scene to the second fatal on Kirkland road within two days.
"That is now two families who have lost a loved one."

The lives lost on Territory roads now stands at 15.
