Police are responding to serious crash at Garden Island

Police are investigating following a serious crash at Garden Island late last night.

Just before midnight on Sunday 25 December, police were called to Garden Island Road after reports a woman fell from a moving car and suffered critical injuries.

The Toyota Prado was being driven in a car park and travelling over speed bumps when a passenger, a 24-year-old woman from Athelstone, who was standing on foot plates on the outside of the car was thrown from the vehicle.

SAAS were quickly on scene and conveyed the woman to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where she is being treated for critical injuries.

The driver, a 23-year-old man from Athelstone, is assisting police with their enquiries.
