Police are responding to serious crash, Elimbah

A man is in a critical condition following a single vehicle crash at Elimbah on the Sunshine Coast this afternoon (August 20).

Initial investigations indicate a Toyota Hilux travelling northbound on a bridged section of the Bruce Highway has left the roadway, driving off an embankment and crashed onto the Steve Irwin Way underpass beneath.

A man in his 20s, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, was transported in a critical condition to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
