Police are responding to serious crash, Forest Glen area

Police are seeking witnesses and dash-cam footage to assist an investigation into a serious crash on the Bruce Highway, last Friday (March 5).

Around 5.30pm witnesses reported seeing a blue 2004 Ford Falcon, with Queensland registration 088ZUF driving erratically, weaving in and out of traffic whilst travelling South from Gympie.

The vehicle lost control at Chevallum, hitting the guard rail then colliding with another vehicle before coming to a stop against the guard rail.

The driver, a 28-year-old Gunalda man, was charged with one count of driving under the influence of liquor. He will appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on April 19.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who saw the vehicle travelling south from Gympie on the Bruce Highway or has relevant dash cam vision to contact police.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Sunshine Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
