Police are responding to serious crash in CBD, South Australia

Two drivers are in hospital after a serious crash in the city late last night.

About 10.15pm on Monday 4 October, patrols stopped a silver Holden utility travelling on Currie Street in the city. As police approached the vehicle it accelerated away and travelled south on West Terrace before colliding into the rear of a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

Both drivers and sole occupants suffered serious injuries and were taken by SA Ambulance officers to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where they are being treated.

Major Crash officers attended the scene and are investigating the cause of the collision.
