Police arrest five following Dallas carjacking

Fawkner Embona Taskforce investigators have arrested five people following an alleged carjacking in Dallas early Sunday morning, Victoria Police say.

The incident occurred on Blair Street just after midnight on 19 August.

It is alleged the victim was sitting in his car in a supermarket car park when two men, both armed with a firearm, exited a nearby vehicle and approached him.

The men demanded he get out before driving off in his Mercedes, while another car followed.

The 46-year-old Craigieburn man was not physically injured during the incident.

Four men and a woman were since taken into custody during a planned arrest at an address on Tylden Place, Westmeadows about 4.30pm yesterday (20 August).

They were arrested by members of the Special Operations Group, with two firearms also seized.

A 27-year-old Dandenong North man has been charged with aggravated carjacking and was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

A 19-year-old man from Dandenong North has been charged with firearms offences and was remanded to appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court today.

Two men and a woman have been released pending further enquiries.

The Mercedes has been recovered.
