A 33-year-old man has been arrested following an alleged assault in Abbotsford late last night.
A 67-year-old Abbotsford woman was transported to hospital for treatment after she self-presented at Collingwood Police Station about 11.45pm yesterday with serious injuries.
Investigators believe the victim was allegedly assaulted by the man, also from Abbotsford, with an edged weapon about 11.40pm at a premises in Charles Street, Abbotsford.
The two parties are believed to be known to each other.
Police arrested the Abbotsford man about 12.30am at the Charles St premises.
He is currently in custody where he is assisting police with their enquiries.
