A 45-year-old Broadmeadows man has been arrested following an alleged hit-run collision in Campbellfield yesterday.
Police received a report of a man loitering in Coolaroo near a vehicle that detectives were looking for about 4.20pm.
Officers attempted to intercept the driver in Fawkner however the vehicle fled.
The Air Wing followed the vehicle to a car park on Sydney Road in Brunswick where Critical Incident Response Team members on the ground arrested him nearby shortly after 5pm.
He remains in custody, assisting investigators with their enquiries.
The arrest relates to an incident where a 45-year-old man was struck by a vehicle while riding his scooter in Campbellfield at 1pm yesterday.
The Campbellfield man remains in hospital in a critical condition.
