Police arrest man after Fitzroy aggravated burglary

Police have arrested a man after an alleged aggravated burglary in Fitzroy on Thursday, 24 February.

Officers were called to an address on Brunswick Street to reports a man had broken into the home about 11.10pm.

Investigators have been told a male occupant of the house was woken by a man standing over him, armed with knuckle dusters, demanding cash and valuables.

The occupants managed to flee the home and notify police who arrived swiftly and arrested the man at the scene.

He is assisting investigators with their enquiries.
