Police have arrested a man following two fires in Mentone this morning.
Witnesses called Triple 0 after seeing a man light a fire at a vacant block on Mentone Parade about 8.15am.
Police responded and saw a man fleeing on foot.
He was arrested a short time later in nearby Station Street after a second property was allegedly set alight about 8.25am.
The vacant property sustained moderate damage.
The 47-year-old Cheltenham man remains in custody and the investigation is ongoing.
