Police arrest man after pursuit with stolen motorbike -Ambarvale

A man has been arrested following a pursuit with police on a stolen motorcycle at Ambarvale this morning.

About 10.15am (Monday 25 January 2021) officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were patrolling Ambarvale when they noticed a Suzuki motorcycle allegedly doing a burnout near Pickwick Way.

As police approached the rider, he accelerated along Dickens Road and into Copperfield Road before a pursuit was initiated.

Police will allege the rider did a U-turn and rode towards police before mounting a kerb and into bushland. The pursuit was then terminated.

PolAir assisted in searching for the motorcycle and tracked it to a house in Desdemona Street. Officers attended the house and it is alleged he again rode towards police, lost control before crashing into a house.

As police were attempting the restrain the man a struggle commenced, and two police officers were allegedly punched in the face.

The 23-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campbelltown Hospital for treatment.

Inquiries are continuing.
