Police arrest man after serious assault at Largs Bay, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a serious assault overnight at Largs Bay.

Just before 11.30pm on Sunday 26 January, patrols were called to a service station on Victoria Road at Peterhead, were they found a man with a stab wound to his back.

Enquiries then led police to a house in Sawford Street where they identified the scene of the assault and located the suspect who had facial injuries. Police will allege there had been a physical altercation between the two men.

A 50-year-old man from Birkenhead was arrested and is currently in the Royal Adelaide Hospital and is expected to be charged with aggravated assault later today.

The victim, a 51-year-old from Exeter is also in the Royal Adelaide Hospital being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both men are known to each other and investigations are continuing.
