Police arrest man after serious assault in Whyalla Stuart, South Australia

A man has been arrested following a domestic assault in Whyalla Stuart.

Police will allege that about 9.23am today (Thursday 23 September), patrols and ambulance crews were called to a house in Murphy Crescent after reports that a man had assaulted his partner by punching her in the head and upper body.

The victim, a 28-year-old Whyalla Stuart woman was taken to a local hospital, before being flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition.

A 43-year-old local man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault causing serious harm.

He has been refused bail to appear in the Whyalla Magistrates Court tomorrow.
