Police arrest man after St Albans Park sexual assault

Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad have arrested a man as part of their investigation into a sexual assault at an aged care facility in St Albans Park yesterday.

A 23-year-old St Albans Park man was arrested shortly after 9am and is currently being interviewed by police.

Police yesterday conducted a public appeal for information in relation to the incident, where a 90-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at the Aldershot Road facility about 4.45am on 15 August.

The incident was investigated by detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad with assistance from the Geelong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team, local police and Major Crime Scene Unit.
