Police arrest man after stabbing at Underdale, South Australia

A man has been arrested after an incident at Underdale, where he stabbed a man in the neck and started a fire.

Police will allege that about 2.30am today (Monday 25 October), patrols and emergency services were called to a share house on Henley Beach Road after reports that one of the residents had stabbed another male resident in the neck with a small knife.

The victim was not seriously injured and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for treatment.

The suspect had also poured accelerant throughout the house prior to the stabbing, with one of the rooms damaged by fire.

Patrols used capsicum spray to subdue the suspect and he was arrested soon after.

The 32-year-old man will face numerous charges including aggravated assault causing harm and arson.

It is expected that he will be refused bail to appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.
