Police arrest man for historic child sexual offences

Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 44-year-old man as a result of their investigation into alleged historic child sexual abuse incidents.

It is alleged between October and December 1998, the man sexually assaulted a girl who was 15-years-old at the time of the first incident. The man was a Youth Leader at a Church Youth Group the victim was a member of when the alleged offences occurred.

The man from Brabham has been charged with:-

• 11 counts of Indecently Deals with a Child over 16 years under their Authority;

• Three counts of Sexual Penetration of a Child over 16 years under their Authority; and

• One count of Indecently Deals with a Child over 13 and under 16 years.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 6 March 2020.
